Merck Australia is again taking on the mountain to support Rare Cancers Australia in its annual Mount Kosciuszko Challenge raising awareness and much needed funds for cancer research.
The company is adding some colour to its effort, as it did last year. Its six team members will be easy to identify in the company's corporate branded t-shirts.
“Our team might not be the biggest but we will shine boldly and vibrantly on top of Mt Kosciuszko,” said participant, Fiona Gray, Merck business services associate oncology and communications.
Merck has been supporting Rare Cancers Australia since 2014 through various activities.
“We are proud of the role we play in cancer research and we are pleased to be able to show our support for patients and their families. This is just one way we can do this. It’s great to see the innovator medicines companies coming together to make this annual event such a success,” said Drew Young, Managing Director, Merck Biopharma, Australia and New Zealand.
Rare Cancers Australia has teamed up with PharmaDispatch to launch the 'Pharma 2 Peak Kosi Challenge' to see which pharmaceutical company employees can raise the most towards supporting the $200,000 fundraising goal.
