The UK is the first to approve and distribute Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine because it was the first to sign an advance supply agreement with the company, according to health secretary Matt Hancock, while the country's regulator has contradicted claims its process was something other than 'the most rigorous scientific assessment'.
